Royal Caribbean Releases Guidelines for Sailing out of Florida

“Unvaccinated guests 2 years of age and older are required to take an RT-PCR test when checking in at the terminal, which will be administered by one of our testing vendors. Registration details will be sent via email in advance.”

Guests under the age of 2 do not need to wear a mask. Vaccinated AND unvaccinated guests will be required to wear make indoors unless seated and actively eating or drinking. Masks are not required in your stateroom with your traveling party, outdoors, or at CocoCay, unless in a crowded setting.

My Time Dining will also not be available to unvaccinated guests. There will be separate dining for vaccinated and unvaccinated guests.

The guidelines specify that children and guests not of age to receive the vaccine will NOT be charged for the administration or processing of their COVID testing. While guests that ARE eligible for the vaccine but have chosen not to receive it will be charged $136. The $136 charge will be applied to the guests onboard expense account. Guests who do not wish to be tested or incur the additional expense may request a refund.

Unvaccinated guests 16 and older will need to have an RT-PCR test by an accredited lab of the guests choice within three days of sailing in addition to the $136 test at the terminal.

There will be events onboard restricted to vaccinated guests only while others will be for vaccinated AND unvaccinated. They did not specify what those are, but will do their best to provide opportunities for all guests.

Currently, these guidelines have only been sent to guests booked on Freedom of the Seas out of Florida. We continue to anticipate changes as public health requirements evolve.
