Moms at Sea also sees Icon of the Seas scheduled to be in St Maarten on October 24, 2023 as well as November 11, 2023. The first hint we have so far at a sail date and itinerary. It is believed icon may complete a debut sailing from Southampton prior to making her way to the US where she is expected to homeport from Miami.
We now have a full rendering of what the splash pad area could look like on Icon of the Seas. Our guess is that there may be some family style cabins with more convenient access to this space. We’ll see!
Royal Caribbean has been driving cruise addicts crazy with their slow drip release of teasers for Icon of the Seas.
And while we’ve enjoyed joining the masses in guessing what features will be on this revolutionary new ship, word on the street is that families are going to LOVE it! One big guess that keeps coming up for families is the addition of more family style cabins and possibly even a family area on the ship, best described as a similar concept to the Family Harbor on Carnival.
Royal Caribbean is no stranger to dropping hints for their super fans and Moms at Sea noticed the cropping of todays release was a little sus (that suspicious for those of you who aren’t into the kid lingo these days)!
After searching further for more images of this area, we found another graphic with more detail that’s not included in the unveiling drop today.
We believe that Icon of the Seas may be debuting the first ever AFT facing and located splash pad feature. If so, we can tell you where you’ll find us! You can see the image below has what looks like an obstacle course, or little “islands” kids might be able to walk to and from on a purple beam connecting them. We see a small slide in the left aft area- perhaps the diapered side?
This looks like an incredible space!
It makes sense that this would be a shallow water feature and not a full pool as other building pictures have shown another space beneath this with what looks like risers or seating.
Above you can better envision what looks like the perimeter of a splash pad.
So what is your guess? Is this a splash pad??? And if so, what are your thoughts?
