Th best way to get the best deal on any of these experiences that have a charge associated is to sign up for Royal Caribbean emails and keep an eye on your Cruise Planner. The Cruise Planner is where you can purchase things like shore excursions, drink packages, dining packages, and internet packages BEFORE your cruise. PRO-TIP: If there is an activity you MUST DO, go ahead and book it while there is availability. If there is a Cruise Planner sale and the price drops, you can have it adjusted to the lower price. Same with drink and dining packages- if the price goes below what you paid during a sale, you can call to have it adjusted to the sale price.
Thrill Waterpark
A lot of people are under the impression that at stop at Coco Cay requires a purchase for Thrill Waterpark. This is not true. While Royal Caribbean will happily take your hard earned money in exchange for a day of thrills, it is not requisite to enjoy a perfect day on the island.
If you do choose to venture into the waterpark you’ll absolutely want to purchase your tickets ahead of time, prior to your sailing, to get the best deals. Remember, if you book it and the price drops, you can always cancel and rebook at the new lower price. Once you arrive, if you have pre-purchased your Thrill Waterpark admission, simply swipe your SeaPass card at the park entrance to enter. You may also purchase admission to the waterpark, once you are on the island, then use your SeaPass card at the park entrance. If you wish to leave the waterpark during your day, use your SeaPass card to enter and exit the park as often as you like. It’s important to note that guests under the age of 14 need to be accompanied by a ticket guest over the age of 14 in the waterpark.
Cabanas and Rentals
There is no shortage of complimentary places to chill on Coco Cay! Beach chairs and umbrellas can be found throughout the island and are a great option if you want to try out different parts of the island throughout the day! There are plenty of options for unwinding in the shade, beginning with beach umbrellas (complimentary), and daybeds (available for a rental charge), plus rental cabanas available at Chill Island, South Beach, Thrill Waterpark, and Oasis Lagoon freshwater pool. You can also elevate your beach day by renting a Beach Cabana or a Floating Cabana at Coco Beach Club.
If you rent one of the cabanas on Perfect Day at CocoCay you will have towels at the cabana and may leave the towels there upon departure. Complimentary beach towels are available onboard the ship, can be brought onto the island, and exchanged throughout the day as desired at three towel exchange stations.
If you take complementary beach towels from the ship onto the island with you, since they are provided onboard based on a check-out/check-in system, you should bring your towels back to the ship with you.
Many cabanas also additional amenities but visit the cruise planner for specific details:
-
bottled water
-
USB outlet
-
Bluetooth Speaker
-
safe
-
snorkel gear
Some cabanas come with extra perks, too. If you reserve a cabana at Thrill Waterpark, you’ll enjoy complimentary entry to all of the slides and activities inside for up to six guests. If you reserve a cabana at Coco Beach Club you’ll enjoy complimentary access to the club for up to eight guests.
Cabana pricing varies by season. Beach cabanas are currently priced starting from $549 and Floating cabanas start at $999 each. Pricing varies by season and tends to increase around peak travel times, including summer and holidays. Pricing is subject to change. For exact pricing, I recommend that once booked, you visit Cruise Planner — the best way to plan your time at Perfect Day at CocoCay! I cannot stress enough that Cruise Planner always has the latest prices for your sailing, and you’ll save on your experiences when you book ahead.
If you want to read more about the cabana options to see if its the choice for your family you can find more information here!
What to Bring Ashore for the Day
-
SeaPass Card
-
Beach towels
-
Sun Protection
-
Hats
-
Ssunscreen
-
Sun shirts, rashguards, and other types of UPF clothing
-
Sunglasses
-
-
Footwear
-
Proper closed toe foot wear secured around the back of your foot is required for the Zip Line. I recommend sneakers of a pair of watersheds you can wear for the day.
-
-
Bug Repellant
-
Ok, so its a MOSTLY perfect day at Coco Cay but even the incredible teams that create the magic at Royal Caribbean couldn’t keep the bugs away. Its an island in the Caribbean and while the gentle breeze will keep many at bay, certain times of day and year will have more bugs.
-
-
Supplies for Kiddos and Baby
-
diapers
-
formula
-
sun protection (I recommend reef safe brands like Blue Lizard, Badger, ThinkSport)
-
Some of our moms have even taken pack and plays for an island snooze! There is not a kids club on the island but Adventure Ocean does remain open onboard while in port.
-
You can take a stroller but sand strollers are available throughout the island at no charge however, in my experience, not incredibly easy to locate unless you arrive early
-
Transportation
USE THE TRAM! It’s so easy and totally free. The Island Tram runs all day, and includes five stops: Arrivals Plaza (near Thrill Waterpark); South Beach; Coco Beach Club and Up, Up and Away; Oasis Lagoon; and Chill Island. A tram dedicated to guests of Coco Beach Club will run approximately every 10 minutes, all day. You can board the tram near Arrivals Plaza.
Additionally, there is a dedicated Pier Tram that runs continuous service between the ship and Arrivals Plaza. You can wait for it literally where you step of the ship and it is so easy! Accessible trams are available on regular rotation throughout the island.
