As parents gearing up to embark on our big family sailings, that we have spent so many countless hours planning, perfecting, and orchestrating (seriously, were are our awards?) the big fear in many of our minds is WHAT IF WE TEST POSITIVE IN PRE-CRUIE TESTING? Followed by, what if one of use gets sick on the ship?
It’s reassuring to know that Royal Caribbean has extended some of its most protective policies.
Royal Caribbean has extended the following protections for sailings departing on-or-before September 30, 2022:
-
Pro-rated cruise fare refund if the cruise is cut short for reasons related to COVID-19, for cruises departing on or before September 30, 2022.
-
If a guest tests positive for COVID-19 during the cruise, Royal Caribbean will cover the costs of COVID-19 related medical treatment onboard and provide assistance with any required land-based quarantine, or travel home for the guest and their Traveling Party, for cruises departing on or before September 30, 2022.
The following protection will remain unchanged:
-
100% cruise fare refund for the guest, and their Travelling Party, if any of them tests positive for COVID-19 within 10 days prior to the cruise or at the boarding terminal, for cruises departing on or before April 30, 2023.
If you or a member of your party tests positive in your pre-cruise test, you can simply reach out to Royal Caribbean or your travel advisors, provide them with the positive test result, and Royal will ask if you would like to receive a full refund or cruise credit for your entire travel party, even if you are in two connecting or separate rooms. It is easy and I have helped many families through the process.
